Life on the farm
This is our Pig. We like to call her Piggy. No, not after Hippo or Dog or whatever his new name is. We just call her Piggy because it's so original and if she ends up on our plates at the end of the day we don't feel bad. However, I doubt our little Piggy will end up on our plate because she's our pet, and she's very clever. I'll tell you why.
This is her poo. Piggy poos quite regularly and I, or my son, usually end up cleaning out her little stall. We used to shovel the poop into the wheelbarrow and dump it over by the dirt piles. Now we just pile it into the bucket of the backhoe and drive it over, it's much easier. However, I digress.
So, in addition to her pig food we usually save all our composting and feed it to her. She goes wild. She just love it. While cleaning out the pig stall just before our vacation I noticed something in one of the old piles. Upon closer inspection, this is what I saw.
And this...

And on even closer inspection this is what I found.
We seem to have two types of tomatoes - roma and beefsteak. There are about five tomato plants in that pile. We actually had a pig poo tomato sandwich for breakfast this morning. It was lovely. My wee little Piggy grows lovely tomatoes.

This is the canteloupe. We have a bevvie of canteloupe and I'm dying to pick one and try it out.
There you have it. My clever little pig decided she'd grow us a garden. Not only does she bring home the bacon but she does the rest of the shopping while she's at it. How can we chop her up and eat her after that?

Because bacon is sooooo very nice.
And you can buy bacon in the shop quite easily enough without murdering your magical pig!
That is the coolest thing I've seen.
Are you going to run a series of experiments in feeding her different things and seeing what comes out the other end at the end of next summer?
I'd like a Porsche.
I'd like a 50" plasma telly and a bo of Tesco Finest Camomile Tea.
I bet she can't magic that up.
Piggy. That's such a cute name.
Oh deary me, I meant a 'box' not a 'bo'.
I've had a little too much dandelion wine!
*hic*
Are you going to match it up with a Tazmanian Devil?
What about some of Canada's finest weed? can you grow weed in Canada? I bet magic Piggy can make it happen.
I wonder if she could shit out kitchen cabinets and base board. I should just feed her bob the builder.
Love your piggy photos and little quips you have written, sound like a Kids film I used to watch often, charlottes web, the pig is too clever to eat lol
